Music Kids Competition reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at any event without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. Music Kids Competition may use the photograph/video in publications or other media material including but not limited to: brochures, invitations, books, newspapers, magazines, television, websites, etc.
Be on Time! Bands that are not present at the time scheduled will be not be able to perform in their assigned time slot and will be moved to the back of the band roster for that day.
Bands will have a 30 minute time slot to get on stage, sound check, perform, and disband. Bands will lose 2 points for every minute they go over.
Bands that are missing a member have the option to perform without that person provided they have a minimum of 3 players.
Bands must have no more than 8 members and no fewer than 3 members.
Lower ages may compete in upper age categories but never the reverse.
The solo category is for vocal performances only and is open to all age groups and all skill levels.

Performances are limited to 10 minutes. We encourage vocalists to use the time entirely however it is not required.
No one may accompany a vocalist however they may accompany themselves with any instrument of their choosing.
Backing tracks and karaoke track are allowed and must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the event in an MP3 format.
A Music Mentor is an adult musician who performs with a band competing in the Beginner Band category of Mini Music Kids or Junior Music Kids.
Music Mentors may play any instrument or sing however they must remain seated while on stage and the emphasis must be on the music kids. No soloing or grandstanding will be allowed and judges are encouraged to be very punitive when Music Mentors break this rule so 1 to 10 points can be deducted.
A Music Mentor must also act as Stage Manager
Bands must have an adult stage manager present. Stage managers are responsible for all aspects of the band from load in to load out and time on stage.
Stage Managers are solely responsible for interactions with audio technicians and staff.
Music Kids and parents should refrain engaging any staff member, technician or judge.
Bands with a *Music Mentor meet this criteria.
Bands are NOT permitted to use their own amplifiers or drums. Those will be provided, see Stage Plot page for details.
Pedal board effects and rack mount effects are allowed however no loop stations, backing tracks, or vocal enhancers are allowed.
No turntables are permitted.
